Dahlias to blow your mind with.
Longwood Gardens, now a 1000+ acre botanical garden, was once Lenape land. It fed the Native tribe from its waters and woods, sustaining them for centuries. In the early 1700's the land was tilled into a farm, and later, an arboretum. But by 1906, it was in jeopardy of being sold and milled for lumber. Pierre S. du Pont purchased the farm, transforming the property into what is known today as one of the world's leading horticultural gardens. This stunning collection of flowers and trees inspires 'through excellence in garden design, horticulture, education, and the arts'.
When you visit, prepare to be inspired, prepare to be in awe.
